„Sich begegnen und friedlich auseinandergehen – Wie höre ich anderen zu?
Wie sprechen wir miteinander?“
Angesichts von Hate speech, Bubbledenken und Mobbing brauchen wir eine
offene, gewaltfreie und demokratische Kommunikation. Den Weg dorthin wollen wir
in unserer Veranstaltung gemeinsam mit Ihnen und Schülerinnen und Schülern
stärken. Wie? Lassen Sie sich überraschen!

Mit einem Input des Journalisten Erik Kirschbaum:
„Die Demokratie in Deutschland und den USA ist wehrhaft durch offene
Kommunikation und auch durch Musik“
Die Organisationen „Jugend dirigiert“, der Verein „Forum Demokratie“ und das
Hauptstadtorchester (Dirigat Bridget Kinneary) bilden den Rahmen für diesen
Nachmittag. Schülerinnen und Schüler der Cosmopolitan School, der Martin-Buber-
Oberschule und der Anne-Sophie-Schule moderieren Thementische und ermöglichen
den Austausch mit Mitgliedern der Stadtgesellschaft – also mit Ihnen.
Die Ergebnisse dieses Nachmittages sollen durch die Reise der Schülerinnen und
Schüler an eine Schule in den USA auch dahin getragen und vertieft werden.
Seien Sie dabei, erleben Sie die Wirkung von Musik und Bewegung auf die
Kommunikation.
Führen Sie Gespräche mit Schülerinnen und Schülern und anderen Bürgerinnen und
Bürgern zum Thema Kommunikation in einer demokratischen Gesellschaft.

“Meeting and peacefully parting ways – How do I listen to others? How do we speak with one another?”
In the face of hate speech, bubble thinking, and bullying, we need open, nonviolent, and democratic communication. We want to strengthen the path toward this goal together with you and with students at our event. How? Let yourself be surprised!
When: February 3rd, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Where: Folklore Hall of the Foundation for Music Research, Ben-Gurion-Straße 1, 10785 Berlin (directly next to the Philharmonie)
With input from journalist Erik Kirschbaum: “Democracy in Germany and the USA is resilient through open communication and also through music”
The organizations “Youth Conducts,” the association “Forum Democracy,” and the Capital Orchestra (conducted by Bridget Kinneary) will provide the framework for this afternoon. Students from the Cosmopolitan School, Martin-Buber-Oberschule, and Anne-Sophie-Schule will moderate thematic tables and facilitate exchange with members of the city community – that means with you.
The results of this afternoon will be carried forward and deepened through the students’ trip to a school in the USA.
